THE HISTORY

The history of the Mercado Huanacaxtle artisanal products began on November 21, 2010, with an idea thought up by a group of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle residents. The goal was to create a multicultural event to promote artisanal products without the middleman and attract the thousands of tourists that visit Banderas Bay every year, allowing them to interact directly with local artisans.

The market has grown year after year, attracting diverse vendors from the community who offer authentic products and delicious eats. Every Sunday, you’ll find local and handmade products, including bread, organic fruits and vegetables, dressings and jams, clothing made in Mexico, bikinis, hand-embroidered items, rugs, pottery, jewelry, art, and a wide variety of freshly prepared food and drink, and much more.

There are also craft workshops for kids, yoga classes, and live music all day in the amphitheater facing the water.

La Cruz Market is open every Sunday from November through April, but now you can stop in for a virtual visit nearly every day of the year at any time you like.
