The Riviera Nayarit promotes its attractions in Texas

  • The promotional tour visited Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin on July 12, 13, 14, and 15.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) completed its first in-person promotional event outside of Mexico on July 12, 13, 14, and 15. This had not happened since 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic began.

The promotional tour visited Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, Texas, to promote the Destination’s tourism offerings for the Fall-Winter season in the southern United States. The 150 travel agents reached through training seminars and presentations were delighted to receive this new information.

Other participants in this tour through the main cities of Texas, besides the Rviera Nayarit CVB, included hotels Paradise Village, Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta, Hard Rock Vallarta, Grupo Marival, AM Resorts, Riu Hotels, Samba Vallarta, Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, Decameron Hotels, and Grand Palladium Vallarta. Tour operators Apple Leisure Group, Vacation Express, Pleasant Holidays, and American Airlines and its subsidiary American Airlines Vacations also took part.

Increased air connectivity

Important topics discussed during the presentations in Dallas and Houston included the increase in air connectivity with these destinations thanks to low-cost airline Spirit and new hotel openings in the Riviera Nayarit, including Dreams Bahia Mita and Secrets Bahia Mita.

San Antonio was the third city visited by the promotional tour; it was the team’s first time presenting here to a group of 35 travel agents. At the moment, San Antonio does not have direct connectivity to Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit, so the city of Houston serves as a hub. Subsequently, the team visited Austin for the first time, which also has no direct flight to this region. The good news is that, according to the announcement made by a representative of the airline, as of November 2021, the city will connect through American Airlines.

Travel agents who attended the four events enthusiastically welcomed the tour, as the Riviera Nayarit is one of the first beach destinations in Mexico to resume in-person activities. Comments from both agents and wholesale tour operators were very positive, as their sales have increased significantly and the growing numberbt5 of passengers flying to the region is noticeable.

Incidentally, one of the participating hotels received sales on the second day of the activities from travel agencies that had attended the first event. This is proof of the importance of this type of promotional activity, as the results are almost immediate.
