You might have already heard that there are 23 micro-destinations in the Riviera Nayarit, each one with its own particular charm. Want to know which ones we recommend? Well… All of them, actually! Today, though, we want to introduce you to Bucerías. The best part? You can sample it all in just one day. Keep reading for the scoop!
Join us as we walk you through four reasons why tourists have made Bucerías their fave micro-destination in Mexico.
1 Delicious local cuisine
The Riviera Nayarit’s gastronomy is delicious—to give it a try, just visit Bucerías and dive into its fantastic seafood dishes. Start the day out with breakfast at the Refugio del Mar and their tasty chilaquiles con mole, a tasty plate of fried tortilla triangles with spicy mole (moe-lay) sauce served with eggs and cheese. Then there are the yummy fresh seafood salads, not to mention the fish ceviche—a favorite with everyone—and several other local savory recipes. If you tour the local market ask directions to Mariscos Villarreal, Mariscos Toto, or Mariscos El Payo.
2 Instagram faves
As you walk around Bucerías, you’ll find tons of perfect spots for Insta-shots, so make sure you’re wearing something cute! Scout out the area, and you’ll know just where to take the best selfies on your next visit to the Riviera Nayarit. We recommend stops at the paseo del beso (best place for a kiss), the local mercado, and any one of the very cool murals around town.
3 A beautiful beach
The beach at Bucerías is spotless and wide. The waves are usually gentle, though sometimes they can get a little wild. It’s a great place to chill out, grab a bite by the water, and try your hand at watersports. Of course, a walk along the beach is enjoyable, too!
4 The best weather
Some people return year after year, and they say the weather, the ambiance, the vibes, and the locals are all super special. They love walking the streets and popping into the shops for souvenirs. Not only that, but the scenery is gorgeous, and the sunsets are unforgettable.
