4 Trendy Beaches in the Riviera Nayarit for 2021
We know it’s not easy to explore all 23 micro-destinations in the Riviera Nayarit with only a week or two in town. So, we decided to help out and have pulled out the trendiest beaches that are still fall well within the description of “paradise.”
Keep on reading and take note: these are some of the most beautiful, fabulous, and cleanest beaches in the Riviera Nayarit.
La Lancha in Punta de Mita
This beach is wide open and definitely idyllic. It’s pretty far from the hustle and bustle, as it’s visited mainly by surfers and paddlers. However, even if you’re not one to stand on a board we’re sure you’ll fall in love with the place. To get to it you have to hike through the jungle for a good 10 to 15 minutes. It’s totally safe, though you do have to keep an eye out for crocodiles as the path borders an estuary. Note: avoid it during the rainy season, though, it gets pretty muddy and can be dangerous.
Destiladeras
This beach is known by many, but not by everyone, so if you’ve never been here, you’re going to want to add it to your list of favorites. The access here is easier, you don’t have to walk as much. There’s also a beach club with really good local dishes. The beach is also nice and wide, and the waves are calm; you can spend the day swimming around or just sunning on the beach. Don’t forget your sunscreen—there’s not much shade!
Frideras in Los Ayala
We wrote about this beach on another blog post and we think it’s everyone’s new favorite! It’s right next to Los Ayala and you can either walk there or take a boat. You’ll love the color of the water and never mind the waves… It’s a small beach, but simply gorgeous. You have to see it! Get there early so you can grab a good spot. It’s about a 40-minute drive from Sayulita.
Mal Paso
This beach is still a secret for many. It’s located between Sayulita and San Pancho, but it’s not easy to get to, though there are outfitters who can set you up with a hike or mountain bike tour. If you like adventure, this is the beach for you! It’s deserted, clean, and the scenery is amazing. Let us know if you go!
Remember: These beaches are very clean, and we want to keep them like that.
