The Riviera Nayarit’s California promo tour was a success

  • Over 200 travel agents from Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Diego, and Palo Alto welcomed updates on the tourist offer in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure.

The Riviera Nayarit wrapped up an intense but very productive week of promotion throughout California, one of its top markets, with a tour of four of the Golden State’s most important cities: Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Diego, and Palo Alto.

The caravan was part of the joint promotional work by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) with its main business partner, Puerto Vallarta, to incentivize travelers from this state for the upcoming travel season.

The tour began on Monday, March 2nd with a seminar for travel agents in Los Angeles and continued on to Newport Beach, San Diego, and Palo Alto—in the San Francisco area—updating more than 200 travel agents.

The participation of hotels from the Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit was key to the success of the tour, because the travelers fell in love with the tourist offer they presented. The event included representatives from the following Riviera Nayarit hotels: RIU (Palace Pacífico, Jalisco, and Vallarta); Paradise Village; The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort; Villa La Estancia and Villa del Palmar FlamingosSamba VallartaGrand Velas Riviera Nayarit; Hard Rock Vallarta; and Xiobella.

Wholesale tour operators included Apple Leisure Group, American Airlines Vacations, Classic Vacations, Travel Impressions, Gogo Vacations, Alaska Airlines, and Volaris, all business partners with this destination.

“For the past decade, this has been the top region of origin from the United States for travelers to the Riviera Nayarit. This is why it’s important to keep travel agents updated and provide them with the best sales tools, so we can continue to count on them to sell the destination to their clients,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB.

The data from the Riviera Nayarit CVB’s Barometer confirm California as the top region of origin for tourists to this tourist destination. In 2019 a total of 409,502 tourists from the United States came to the Riviera Nayarit, of which 26% were from California, or 108,144.
