The Riviera Nayarit incentivizes the arrival of tourists to the Bajío region
- The promotional work done by Mexico’s Pacific Treasure focused on the national market, strengthening its presence in the main cities of Mexico’s Central/Northwestern region: Morelia, Querétaro, León, Aguascalientes, and San Luis Potosí.
The Riviera Nayarit took its message to the Bajío region with its traditional annual Promotional Tour, which took place between January 24-28, 2020 in the cities that comprise this important economic zone of Mexico: Morelia, Querétaro, León, Aguascalientes, and San Luis Potosí.
The cities in the Bajío region represent a very relevant market for this tourist destination, which is why this event is held every year with an eye on the upcoming summer season.
Representatives from the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB), and the Compostela Municipal Hotel Association were in contact with over 350 travel agents who received the latest updates on the destination’s offer during breakfast seminars held in each one of the cities on the tour.
A total of 370 travel agents and 31 wholesalers received training as follows:
- Morelia: 50 travel agents and 7 wholesalers.
- Querétaro: 80 travel agents and 6 wholesalers.
- León: 100 travel agents and 6 wholesalers.
- Aguascalientes: 60 travel agents and 6 wholesalers.
- San Luis Potosí: 80 travel agents and 6 wholesalers.
Every event began with a tradeshow with the participation of associated hotels including Paradise Village; Royal Decameron Complex Bucerías and their three properties in Guayabitos —Decameron Los Cocos, Decameron Isla Coral, and Decameron La Marina—; Dreams Villamagna; Hard Rock Vallarta; El Pueblito Sayulita; Casa Marías in Bucerías; the new Hotel Xiobella in Litibú; Grupo Marival, and six other hotels in Rincón de Guayabitos.
Tourist services providers were also present, among them IMACOP, La Operadora.com, System Tour, Naturleon, Record Vacation, Grupo FVP, and Solatino (in Morelia). The representatives offered a detailed explanation of the products they offered, allowing for more direct and informative contact.
A natural market
These actions are important as the Bajío, Central, and Western regions of the country are all natural markets for the Riviera Nayarit, generating a little over 34% of domestic visitors to the destination. This allows projections for immediate results for participating hotels, which will then be reflected in occupancy rates for the Holy Week and summer vacation periods.
There are currently direct flights to our region from Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes (where a new flight will be announced shortly), and León via the Bajío airport.
These efforts allow the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to reinforce their presence in potential natural markets and motivates their allies to continue doing business to attract visitors to come enjoy a marvelous stay in this luxury and nature tourist destination.
