“Women and Traditional Cooking” at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit
- Four internationally acclaimed Mexican cooks will come together for this culinary event hosted in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure from January 31 through February 1, 2020.
The AAA Five-Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit hotel will host the first “Women and Traditional Cooking” culinary event from January 31 to February 1, 2020, with four internationally acclaimed female Mexican cooks.
The event promises to be a fantastic culinary experience focusing on women in the art and business of food. It includes a multi-course dinner and pairings with Mexican wine and spirits held in exceptional surroundings: the Riviera Nayarit, a Luxury and Nature destination.
The four participating chefs are: Adria Marina, ex chef for République in Los Angeles, and Tijuana’s Misión 19 and Georgina; Maffer Klyota, owner of Domitila restaurant and the Trópico con Colima food truck; Zahie Téllez, ambassador to the Mexico City Congress and founder of the Parabere Forum, a non-profit platform that supports women’s roles in the food industry; and Xrysw Ruelas Díaz, co-owner of Xokol Antojería bakery and restaurant in Guadalajara, formerly of El Delfín in Riviera Maya, La Leche in Puerto Vallarta, and Hueso, Alfonso Cadena’s culinary workshop.
The menu mixes traditional and modern Mexican flavors to please every palate, including dishes such as pork terrine, taquitos de mole, quelites with amaranth, handmade noodles with octopus and oxtail, escamoles with cacao butter, and more.
