XIV International San Pancho Arts Collective Festival

  • This event promotes art, culture, environmental conservation, and sports in the Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit; the general program includes a Cultural Week and a Performing Arts Festival.

San Francisco, “The Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit”, will host the XIV International San Pancho Festival of the Arts and Culture from December 16-22. This free event promotes art, culture, environmental conservation, sports, and family unity, while placing San Pancho in the spotlight as a quality tourist destination.

The program is varied and embraces different displays of the arts. It is divided into two stages: A Cultural Week, held from December 16-20, 2019; and the Performing Arts Festival from December 21-22, 2019.

The organizers—members of the San Pancho Collective—shared that this year they want to remember and honor the path of all the people who saw in San Pancho the opportunity to create a different society.

“Music, dance, painting, sculpture, and other artistic disciplines will become a tool and an reason to generate community and understanding,” said Renata Montante, a representative from the organizing committee.

Of note is the fact that both the organizers and the support team are volunteers, covering festival expenses by hosting cultural events throughout the year and collecting private donations. They also count on the support of government institutions and local civil associations.

Cultural Week
Daily activities will be held in a different public space divided by activity, all within a safe, family-friendly ambiance. All activities will close with a free film screening for attendees.

Afternoon activities on Saturday kick off with an inaugural parade, and include music shows, dances, circus arts, and theater, among others, performed by local and guest artists. The event lasts 68 hours, during which the plaza will be divided in different areas to host a plastic arts expo; the sale and exhibit of jewelry, handicrafts, and local products; and an area for food.

  • San Francisco, also known as San Pancho, is a small community of approximately 1,800 inhabitants in the municipality of Banderas Bay, Nayarit; it borders to the North with the town of Lo de Marcos and to the South with Sayulita.
  • The community of San Pancho is considered by many to be a magical town. It’s an idyllic beach paradise, with a warm climate throughout most of the year that nurtured not only the biodiverse fauna on land and sea and the lush vegetation that surrounds them, but also the different families that arrived here over the years to call it home.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) work intensely to promote the destination with the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit via its Tourism Promotional Trust (Fiprotur). The cultural tourism offer in the region is a key asset for these promotional activities.
