Swoop, Canada’s ultra-low cost airline and a subsidiary of WestJet Airlines Ltd., has launched its inaugural flight from the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) to the LIc. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), serving Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit.

This is the second Swoop route from Winnipeg to Mexico and offers travelers the option to vacation on the beaches of Banderas Bay from the capital of Manitoba during the 2019-2020 winter season.

“Our route map is constantly expanding, and we keep working towards making travel cheaper, easier, and more accessible,” said Swoop’s president, Swoop. “We continue growing our Winnipeg network, offering more options for Canadians to escape to warmer climates,” he added.

The new Winnipeg route to Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit, a weekly flight departing at 8:45 a.m., began December 20, 2019 and will continue through April 21, 2020.

Marc Murphy, managing director of the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau said: “We’re delighted to collaborate with Swoop on the launch of this direct flight from Winnipeg to the Lic.
