Charismatic, friendly, easy-going, and humble, Chef Betty is living proof that it’s possible to be a “prophet in your own land.” There’s no doubt she’s a beloved figure everywhere she goes.

The Riviera Nayarit CVB had a chance to speak to her after the MasterChef Mexico event:

“Thanks for following the show for the past 17 Sundays. MasterChef Mexico gave me the opportunity to meet many Mexicans who have approached me to say hello and share how the program has had a positive effect on Mexican families. I’d like to thank Azteca Mexico for the teamwork and for making me a part of their great family.”

“The Riviera Nayarit has been a showcase for me, but also a source of inspiration: these beaches, lagoons, colonial cities, the warmth of the people—both their warmth and their quality—, Nayarit is that and more… This is what makes you fall in love with Nayarit…”

“I’m grateful for the work we’ve done together with the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as the follow-up to all the activities I participate in. I’d especially like to thank the media for all the articles they’ve published on myself, my destination, and my region,” she added.

Chef Betty Vázquez has nearly 40 years’ in her field and has championed Nayarit’s gastronomy for over a decade. Her creations have brought her ample recognition in both national and international institutions, not to mention participation in festivals, conferences, and seminars. She has also been invited to represent Mexican cuisine as guest chef in foreign countries and world festivals.
