- Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit is getting
decked out from September 29 through October 3 to celebrate the eleventh
edition of this gastronomic festival, featuring a group of 36
internationally-renowned chefs.
Vallarta Nayarit
Gastronómica is ready for a new cycle with the slogan “We have a story to tell,”
right on the heels of their big celebration for their tenth anniversary.
During a press
conference last Thursday, August 29, event organizers and directors Carlos
Elizondo and Consuelo Elipe shared how what started out as a training seminar
is today a top-ranked festival, one that continues to evolve offering the
latest and greatest from Latin America’s culinary landscape.
Puerto Vallarta and the
Riviera Nayarit are getting decked out from September 29 through October 3,
2019, to celebrate the eleventh edition along with 36 renowned chefs. Between
them the chefs have received multiple Michelin Stars and Soles Repsol, as well
as top spots in The 50 Best Restaurants and Top Chefs. Sommeliers, mixologists,
and world-class speakers will also be present.
Jesús Carmona Jiménez,
president of the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the
Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, highlighted the importance of gastronomy
as a key asset for the promotion of the Riviera Nayarit. He encouraged a
continuation of the joint work between Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit,
especially now that the Mexico Tourism Board is closed.
“The region has so
much to offer, diversity, events, etc., but now we need to celebrate and
promote our gastronomy,” he reiterated.

The event
VNG 2019 is staying
true to its origins with show cookings, premium tastings, gourmet workshops,
the GastronomiKids segment, samplings, an expo area, wine-pairing dinners, and
special events. The event is also setting an important precedent by evolving
and improving its experiences through new events aimed at strengthening
business alliances and touching on topics of interest for the industry
including:
Gourmet Night Out, a meet and greet
between the top 100 Decision Makers in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit with
sponsors and press that takes place during a private cocktail party in the expo
area of the Hotel Sheraton Buganvilias. This VIP closed-door networking event
is for a select group of destination professionals designed to close business
more effectively.
This year’s lineup
includes some of the most important and media-savvy chefs in the world as well
as some expert speakers including: Eddy Warman, gastronomy and wine specialist
with a popular radio show; Anette Michel, Master Chef host on TV Azteca; Ramón
Dios, founder of gastrocoaching and owner of Mesón Fuencarral; and Cecilia
Núñez, editorial director and partner at Food & Travel México; among

event and is hosting one of the main wine-pairing dinners on the program.
Vallarta Nayarit
Gastronómica 2019 undoubtedly has a fantastic lineup that includes several
surprises to be announced during the inauguration.
The world of wine and
spirits is sharing the latest news and products via sommeliers and mixologists.
This year the event features two of the greatest: Martin Kovar and Israel Díaz.
As far as private events, the welcome cocktail is a much-anticipated gala
event.
Vallarta Nayarit
Gastronómica wouldn’t be complete without GastronomiKids. This segment began in
2016 as part of its social responsibility program and stayed on to help the
less-fortunate kids.
