  • The AHMBB and the Riviera Nayarit CVB visited Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, and San Francisco with the goal of attracting more tourists to the region for the summer season.

The Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) worked together with the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust for their annual promotional tour to some of the top cities in California.

The California Tour was part of the Promotional Plan set in place by Mexico’s Pacific Treasure and its sister destination, Puerto Vallarta, to incentivize tourist arrivals to the region prior to the summer season.

This work trip was very productive, as representatives from both destinations informed 170 travel agents about the advantages of vacationing in the region, as well as obtaining important media exposure.

The tour’s first stop was in Los Angeles on Monday, April 1st, where they had 40 travel agents in attendance. On Tuesday the 2nd it moved to Orange County, considered one of the richest counties of the United States, where they spoke to 47 travel agents. The tour ended in San Francisco on Thursday, April 4th with a seminar for 40 travel agents.
Of note is the fact that some professionals who attended the seminars specialized in Groups and Weddings, and one even mentioned already having an event planned at a Riviera Nayarit hotel for November of this year.

Several hotels also joined the Promotional Tour to publicize their offer, among them Villa del Palmar Flamingos and Villa La Estancia; Samba Vallarta; Hard Rock Vallarta; Dreams Villamagna; Paradise Village; Occidental Nuevo Vallarta; Hoteles Riu (Riu Jalisco, Riu Vallarta, and Riu Palace Pacífico), and Grand Palladium.
Representatives from top wholesalers and airlines were present as well, including Gogo Vacations, Classic Vacations, All About Tours, Travel Impressions, Apple Vacations, Vacations for Less, American Airlines Vacations, Aeromexico-Delta, Volaris, and Alaska Airlines. The companies offered complementary activities to help incentivize the agents.
