South America’s Top Wholesalers Discover the Riviera Nayarit
- Copa Vacations’ reps enjoyed the bounty offered by Mexico’s Pacific Treasure with an eye on the upcoming PTY-PVR Copa Airlines flight.
During their recent visit to the Riviera Nayarit, reps from South America’s top wholesalers felt “it was wonderful to discover the diversity of the landscape, the warm waters, the ease of mobility, as well as the cultural and culinary topic imbued with the essence of Mexico,”
Led by Melany Ramírez, an executive at Copa Vacations, a group of 24 wholesalers and Copa Airlines business partners—which included directors, managers, and product executives—visited Mexico’s Pacific Treasure to fully experience the destination so they could later share their experiences with their clients.
The wholesalers had the opportunity to observe first-hand the variety of hotels, marinas, golf courses, services, and the genuine hospitality offered by the different micro-destinations in the Rivera Nayarit.
The two days were very productive as none of them had actually been to the destination, which meant this was an extremely important visit as they will now be able to confidently sell this tourism destination and be convinced future visitors will enjoy a unique experience.

“I feel they now have a clear picture of the products they can create for each type of client and segment, plus they’re also more confident because they can guarantee what they’re offering,” said Marc Murphy, managing director of the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).
Lucero Guerrero, sales and marketing manager for the CVB and the AHMBB, shared the fact that each of the attendees was strategically chosen based on their production for Copa Vacations and the potential for connectivity to feed the upcoming PTY-PVR flight.
“We had wholesalers visiting from Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Chile, and Panama. The next step will be to train their sales teams and raise awareness among travel agents about this destination’s potential.
