- The destination is featured in print and online publications in Mexico,
the United States, Holland and even Iran!
The Riviera Nayarit is
unstoppable in its global positioning. Media interest in this destination
continues to grow, as evidenced by features in prestigious magazines,
newspapers, and online news portals in Mexico, the United States, Latin
America, Europe, and even in the Middle East.
Dutch journalist Anneke
Ruys recently published an in-depth article in Meridian Travel magazine where she described the beauty of Mexico’s
Pacific Treasure, a result of her visit on January 11-18 of this year.
During her stay the
journalist toured interesting local attractions such as the Islas Marietas and
the coastal villages of the Magical Town of Sayulita, San Pancho, and the
Historic Port of San Blas, further north. There she enjoyed the traditional
flavors of Nayarit thanks to Chef Betty Vázquez, the Culinary Ambassador of the
Riviera Nayarit. The tour ended with a visit to the city of Tepic, capital of
the state of Nayarit, as well as the Magical Town of Jala, and the beautiful
and mysterious lagoon at Santa María del Oro.
“Those seeking a little-known
Mexican destination will surely be surprised by the Riviera Nayarit,” she wrote
in her native tongue. “The pleasant climate, its ideal location between the
mountains and the beach, the incredible biodiversity in its flora and fauna,
and especially the exuberant hospitality of the people make the state of
Nayarit a must as a vacation destination for young and old.”

Besides the article in Meridian Travel, of note is the
inclusion of a Riviera Nayarit hotel—the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort—in an
Iranian blog. The site is Ajibtarin.com and the article is titled “Romantic
Hotels From Around The World.”
Mexico’s Pacific Treasure
is also in Travel Age West online,
which for 49 years has been covering destinations and is a valuable resource
for travel agents in the western states of the US. The article is titled “Top
Spots for Luxury Travel in Riviera Nayarit”.

With respect to the
aforementioned publications, Marc Murphy, Director of the Riviera Nayarit
Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel
Association (AHMBB) commented that it’s all proof positive of the trust and
acceptance the media has for a young—but constantly growing—destination such as
the Riviera Nayarit.
“Besides sharing the many
attractions of the destination, these publications help to counteract the
travel alerts by making it abundantly clear this region does not represent a
risk for the tourist,” he added.
