Six Riviera Nayarit hotels will be included in the FamilyVacation Critic site for 2018; this is one of the most important travel planning guides in the United States.
The hotel is key to any trip, and it might very well be the most important part of a family vacation.
For this they take into account many of the questions parents have when it’s time to plan the “perfect” vacations: Are there enough activities for the kids? How’s the pool? What kind of food do they serve in the hotel restaurants?
Riviera Nayarit, Family-Style
The section on the Riviera Nayarit was written for the first time in 2015. This year, Courtney Elko, writer and associate editor for Family Vacation Critic, returned to the destination during the first week of February in order to update the travel guide.
Elko spent a few days visiting some of the most iconic places in the Riviera Nayarit, Sayulita, Punta de Mita, and the Islas Marietas, as well as the properties that will be included this year in the guide. Among them, the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa Riviera Nayarit, the W Punta de Mita and the Imanta Resorts Punta de Mita—the latter is also a Virtuoso Preferred and Relais & Chateaux property.
The writer was able to experience the hospitality, luxury, and gorgeous natural surroundings of each of these properties, as well as their gastronomy and other amenities including treatments in their world famous spas. Most importantly, though, she witnessed what makes them ideal venues for family vacations.
Every review in Family Vacation Critic is specifically written with families in mind, according to Elko.
“Thank you so much for all your help and for planning my trip. I had a wonderful time, and Punta de Mita and Sayulita are amazing! I already recommended Sayulita to a cousin who is looking to visit Mexico in a few months,” she enthused upon her return to the cold winter of Philadelphia in the US.
Of note is the fact Family Vacation Critic publishes its list of “Family Vacation Critics Favorite Hotels” every year. The Riviera Nayarit hotels included in last year’s list were: Hard Rock Hotel Nuevo Vallarta, Iberostar Playa Mita, Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Hotel Cielo Rojo, Decameron Los Cocos, and Hotel Garza Canela.

The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) reaffirm their commitment to create new alternatives that allow the positioning of the destination in markets that have proven their importance in the development of tourism in Mexico. By the same token, they are also consolidating strategies to attract tourists to Nayarit in its entirety, for which they count on the support of the Government of the State of Nayarit via the Tourism Promotion Trust (Fiprotur).
