Virtuoso Travel Agents In Chicago Tour The Riviera Nayarit
- The MTB offices in Chicago and wholesaler Classic Vacations invited the agents, who specialize in luxury travel.
Travel agents belonging to the Virtuoso international network in the United States toured the Riviera Nayarit from October 18-20 so they could experience firsthand the luxury and natural attractions of this multi destination and make the right suggestions for their clients for the perfect vacation.
The FAM trip was organized with the support of the Mexico Tourism Board office in Chicago and the regional manager for wholesaler Classic Vacations, together with the Bahia de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“These FAM trips to the Riviera Nayarit keep its present front and center in the US market while also generating increased interest via the travel agents,” commented Marc Murphy, director of the Bahia de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It also positions the destination as offering unique experiences for the luxury segment.”
The visitors had an intense but fun-filled itinerary, because not only did they visit several of the properties that are in wholesaler Classic Vacations’ catalog but they also had the opportunity to tour some of the iconic spots in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure, as well as its varied array of tourism attractions.
A total of eight agents were welcomed, mostly from Chicago, Illinois, though there were some from Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Kansas City and Arkansas. Even though most of them already sell the destination very well, it was a first for others, so the visit was a great opportunity for them to reinforce their sales pitches.
Classic Vacations has positioned itself as one of the leading luxury tour operators in the United States, and has an ample hotel offer within the destination and is a key commercial partner for some of the properties.
The Facts:
Illinois is the second most important market in the United States for the Riviera Nayarit after California, thus the importance of holding these FAM trips to the region. By October 2017 the destination had received 178,933 tourists from this state.
