Top 10 Recognitions For The Riviera Nayarit

The Riviera Nayarit has obtained international recognitions on many levels. We’d like to share a list of awards received during this ongoing celebration of the Destination’s first decade, with more still pending on the topics of Luxury and Nature, which are just part of what makes Mexico’s Pacific Treasure so special.

10 – The Top 120 Restaurants in Mexico 
The Guía México Gastronómico for 2016 and 2017 chose three restaurants from Nayarit to be among the top 120 in Mexico: El Delfín in the Garza Canela hotel in San Blas, headed by Chef Betty Vázquez; Carolina at The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Punta Mita, headed by José Meza; and Emiliano Comida y Vino in Tepic, with Marco Valdivia as the lead.


9 – Best Hotels per US News
The US News website posted the 2017 Best Rankings with 14 hotels from the Riviera Nayarit on the list. The categories for best hotels included “Pacific Coast,” “Mexico Hotels,” “Mexico All-Inclusive,” “Mexico Family Hotels,” “Mexico Wedding Hotels,” “Mexico Spa Hotels,” “Best Hotel Pools in Mexico,” and “Best Included Breakfast in Mexico.” 

8 – Quality Assurance Awards 
The Delta Vacations Quality Assurance Awards have singled out the Riu Vallarta and Rui Palace Pacífico for both years in a row, while the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta and the Iberostar Playa Mita received theirs last year, and the Dreams Vilamagna did the same on 2014. 

7 – Excelencias Award
Nayarit has received awards for four years on behalf of the Grupo Excelencias: “La Mejor Promoción de un Destino en México” (“Best Promotion for a Destination in Mexico”) in 2011 during the celebration of the Tianguis Turístico with Puerto Vallarta, repeated in 2012; then in 2013 it was received for the launch of Lagunas Encantadas, Sierra del Nayar and Nayarit Colonia; finally it received the “Espíritu de Excelencias” (“Spirit of Excelencias”) in 2014 for the Centro Calidad Nayarit. 

6 – Golden Apple Awards 
These Apple Vacations Awards have been handed out to the Riviera Nayarit on a continual basis. In 2015 they received seven and in 2016 there were another eight Golden Apple Awards for the Destination. The hotels that won both years include Marival Residences, Dreams Villamagna, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Hard Rock Hotel, Iberostar Playa Mita and RIU Palace. Marival Resort and Grand Palladium received it last year, while the Royal Decameron received it two years back.

5 – Readers’ Choice Awards  
The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta were chosen to be among the best in the world by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The four hotels were also in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions.

4 – Travel + Leisure 
The St. Regis, Four Seasons and Grand Velas in Riviera Nayarit were among Travel + Leisure’s top 500 hotels; the Punta Mita resorts were also on more than one list for 2015. Sayulita was among Travel + Leisure’s “Best Beaches in Mexico” in 2016.

3 – RCI Gold Crown 
There are 11 hotels that received the 2017 Gold Crown Resort award: Grand Velas Occidental Grand, Hard Rock Hotel, Marival Residences, Marival Resort, Mayan Palace, Mayan Sea Garden, The Grand Mayan, Dreams Villamagna, Iberostar and Grand Sirenis Matlali. The four hotels that also received the 2017 Excellence in Service and the 2017 Premier Plus awards were: Grand Velas, Occidental Grand, Hard Rock Hotel and Marival Residences. Eight hotels received the award in 2015.

2 – TripAdvisor 
Since 2013, TripAdvisor has continuously recognized the Riviera Nayarit year after year, whether it’s via Travelers’ Choice awards or the Certificates of Excellence awards, or placing the destination’s hotels among the best on a national and international level or Nuevo Vallarta among the best beaches in the country.
1 – HSMAI Adrian Awards
They are known as the “Oscars” of the advertising, digital marketing and public relations’ industries. The Riviera Nayarit has six HSMAI Adrian Awards: one Gold and two Silver in 2015, Gold in 2014, Bronze in 2013, and Silver in 2009.
