Café Tacvba Films Video In The Riviera Nayarit

On October 11, 2016, one of Mexico’s iconic rock bands, Café Tacvba, launched their most recent music video for their song “Un Par De Lugares” (“A Couple of Places”), which was taped on the Riviera Nayarit’s golden beaches.

“Café Tacvba is a band that needs no introduction and we’re honored they chose us to do their music video,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). “Their goal was to tape on virgin beaches and that’s why they were attracted to the Riviera Nayarit. I think they were very pleased in the end because they found what they were looking for.”

After a long scouting session with the Riviera Nayarit CVB’s Public Relations team that took them from Punta de Mita to the coast of Compostela they settled on the beaches at Caletas Las Cuevas and Divisadero, both near Chacala, as their main locations.

They also made a few takes on La Lancha in Punta de Mita and on the beach at San Pancho, which is where the production team found their accommodations. The extras in the video were locals from Sayulita.

The song was taped in July of 2016 in Morelos and the video was post-produced and taped in the Riviera Nayarit September 5-15. The CD will go on sale next year. The quartet, made up by Rubén Albarrán, Emmanuel del Real, Joselo and Quique Rangel, hadn’t produced a record since 2012.

The Riviera Nayarit CVB also lent their support in obtaining the production permits with the municipal and state authorities.
