13TH ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF AND 1ST TASTE OF NUEVO VALLARTA
13th Annual Chili Cook-Off and 1st Taste of Nuevo Vallarta
All funds will be donated to “Families at the Dump” (FAD) and the Navy League’s “Toys for Tots” charities.
The boardwalk, or malecón, at the Marina Nuevo Vallarta will host the very first “Taste of Nuevo Vallarta” together with the “13th Annual Chili Cook-Off” on Saturday, December 7thfrom 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Vallarta Yacht Club is organizing and hosting both events.
This tasty occasion—sponsored by gastronomy and inspired by charity—will give guests the opportunity to pamper their palates with different recipes during the traditional chili competition.
Professional cooks from some 40 restaurants in Mexico’s Pacific Treasure will offer taste temptations from their menus to those who attend the event, starting at $10 Mexican pesos per ticket. These tickets can also be used to buy water bottles, soda, beer, wine and margaritas. Live music will be playing throughout the event.
All funds raised will be divided evenly between the “Families at the Dump” (FAD) and the Navy League’s “Toys for Tots” charities.
“It’s important for our destination to celebrate events that promote our gastronomy, but it’s even more important that they’re celebrated in the spirit of charity, benefitting those most in need,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“This event attracts a lot of tourists since they’re able to sample many different restaurants in one place,” said Rodolfo Trejo, the Yacht Club’s manager. “We’re hosting it for the first time at the Marina Nuevo Vallarta’s boardwalk so we can welcome more visitors.”
“The publicity for this event wouldn’t be the same without the support of institutions such as the Riviera Nayarit CVB,” he continued. “We’d also like to thank the Yacht Club volunteers who year after year work so hard to promote the event.”
Parking will be available at the Marina Nuevo Vallarta and water taxi service will be departing from the public ramp at the Vallarta Yacht Club.
