In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our nature,
and this nature is the backdrop for the seven golf courses in our destination
that have been endorsed by the Mexican Golf Federation. These have attracted
the most important course designers around the world, including Greg Norman,
who may soon be back in our destination for the re-opening tournament of the
Litibú golf course.
Christophe Guiraud,
course manager, spread the news last August 23 after welcoming Danny Fore, an
associate designer of Norman’s design firm, who visited the course to evaluate
the possibility of organizing this tournament.
They checked the
conditions of the course, and rated it as excellent. “Fore was pleased with the
course and reiterated his interest in having the tournament, so at this point
we’re expecting confirmation from Greg Norman’s team, in order to bring the big
news”, said Guiraud.
The Litibú golf course
is managed by Fonatur and is open to the public. Guiraud said that the green
fee is still offered with a 50% discount, which means that anyone can enjoy
this course for $700 pesos.
Few activities compare
to the joy of practicing your swing in any of the amazing golf courses in
Riviera Nayarit, which has been positioned as the best golf destination in
Mexico, and one of the favorite for golfers around the world. The key of its
success has been the combination of spending landscapes, tropical forests and
beaches, together with the design of acclaimed professionals like Jack
Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Jim Lipe, Robert Von Hagge & Baril, and Percy
Clifford.
“When one thinks of golf in Mexico, one may think of other
destinations that have been promoting this sport for a longer time, but we
believe that Riviera Nayarit is the up-and-coming golf destination in the
world”, said recently Ted Simons, Executive Vice President of the Jack Nicklaus
