In Bloom: Plumeria (Part 2)
After I posted my story about Plumeria two weeks ago, one of our readers commented that many of the residents who live at Paraiso del Mar, also known as the Canadian Condos in La Penita, head north before mid-March and don’t ever get a chance to see the Plumerias on their property while they’re blooming. I am always looking for a photo opportunity, so I offered to go take some photos. Unfortunately, they are just starting to bloom and have very few flowers, so I decided to email the photos to the reader rather than including them here.
Never the less, I found a few more varieties throughout the Jaltemba Bay and Riviera Nayarit area to share…
While on a recent tour of the Orchid Farm in Las Lomas (north of San Pancho), I spotted these two beauties near the green house. Because of their striking coloration, they almost look as if they are painted.
I couldn’t resist including this shot of a Plumeria I saw in Sayulita. It shows how the bare branches come alive when in bloom. Plus, I love the contrast of the white, pale pink and bubble-gum pink flowers with bright yellow centers framed against this washed terracotta wall.
