The online contests organized by Riviera Nayarit have been widely successful
- In the last 4 years, Mexico’s Pacific Treasure’s website has received a large number of visitors who twice a year participate to win a vacation in our destination
- The previous edition of the contest registered over 3,000 participants, and the current edition encompasses fun games and exciting adventure
In Riviera Nayarit, luxury means adventure, and this is why four the past 4 years we’ve invited our visitors to participate in our interactive online contests. This year’s prize includes a 4-night stay at the Ocean Breeze hotel.
The first contest in 2011 was set under the theme: “What’s going on in Riviera Nayarit?” and ended last May, with the participation of over 3,000 competitors. The current edition: “Adventures in Riviera Nayarit” is already seeing a large number of contestants who have registered between May and the first half of August.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit is promoting our destination through online contests, in a marketing strategy that allows potential visitors to become aware on the advantages of visiting our destination.
This strategy was created as a result of the statistical data compiled by the CVB, which indicates that the Internet is playing an increasingly important influence in the purchase decision for international travelers, and has now become the largest growing factor for hotel reservations.
The most recent studies made by the CVB indicate that 41% of all visitors make their travel reservations online. Another 9% base their decision on the information available online, while only 2% base it on information they get from printed media, and less than 1% from information they get through magazines.
ONLINE FUN
It’s easy to compete to win a free vacation in Riviera Nayarit. The first thing you need to do is to visit the Website of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit, www.rivieranayarit.com, and then click on the button on the main page that reads, “Win a Free Vacation”. The rest is all fun and games: three online mini-games will help the user to become acquainted with the features of our destination.
Initially, the visitor will become a detective, looking for the differences between images that portray the different activities that can be enjoyed in Riviera Nayarit. After that, the user will play an amazing memory game with images from our destination.
The second game will test the user’s learning ability by displaying a series of photographs taken in Riviera Nayarit, and finally another series of images taken elsewhere. Users will have to discard those photographs that don’t belong to our destination.
Once the tests are complete, the user must register to participate in a drawing to win a trip to enjoy the luxury that Ocean Breeze has to offer. Only complete registrations received between May 16, 2011 and January 10, 2012 will be eligible to participate, and contestants must be over 21 years of age.
