Joint Promotional Campaign Visits Mexico City

  • The tour included presentations for travel agents, airlines, wholesalers and consortiums, reaching over 500 sales and account executives, directors and managers in the capital city.

The Promotions desk of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur) are conducting a very successful Joint Promotional Campaign tour through Mexico City from February 13-16, 2017.

“Mexico City is a vital natural market for our destinations,” said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB. “In fact, it’s always vying for second and third place with Guanajuato as far as the number of tourists is concerned, with Jalisco having held steady in first place for a long time.”

This week the team is holding seminars and presentations for businesses in diverse tourism sectors, and it’s estimated that by the end of the tour over 500 sales and account executives, directors and managers will be updated and well-trained on what’s new in the destinations.

It all started on Monday the 13th with a breakfast and a presentation for 100 sales executives from Magnicharters, a wholesaler and airline that has direct flights to the region from Mexico City and Monterrey, which they complement with hotel packages.

This was repeated on Tuesday the 14th with another 100 travel agents from the metropolitan area, along with the presence of Aeroméxico and Volaris airlines.

A cocktail and presentation for directors and managers of the top agencies in the MICE segment followed on Wednesday the 15th. This event was exclusively for the Riviera Nayarit.

Last but not least, on Thursday the 16th a direct training workshop will be set up at wholesaler BCD Travel’s Call Center with 80 executives. This will be duplicated for RCI, a leader in vacation ownership, also known as timeshares; in this instance the invitation includes 185 executives. Of note: between Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit there are 74 businesses affiliated with that particular consortium.


Over 20 regional hotels accompanied the Joint Promotional Campaign in Mexico City.
