- Over 230 employees in the Destination’s hotel industry benefitted from 10 courses, workshops, training sessions and certifications primarily in the areas of Safety and Human Resources; there has also been an improvement in Tourism Signage.
The Administration office of the Riviera Nayarit Conventions and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has put several Improvement Programs in motion to elevate the quality of the personnel that works for the members of the Bahía de Banderas Hotel and Motel Association.
Several programs were held this first semester in the areas of Tourism Culture, Tourism Signage and Safety, including a series of 10 courses, workshops, training sessions and certifications, all of which benefitted over 230 hotel employees.
Among the top events was the Hotel Security Management Certification program offered by the Technological College of Monterrey for 17 managers. The coordinator of the Ministry of Public Works, Lic. Adolfo Vargas of the State Prosecuters Office offered a talk on the New Adversarial Criminal Justice System in Nayarit to the heads of the security departments, general managers, FIBBA personnel and the tourism police.
The hurricane season was another very important subject and was imparted by Dr. Victor Cornejo, Meteorologist for the Centro Universitario de la Costa, who instructed 32 participants. The Municipal Department of Public Safety offered a Workshop on Temporary Shelters to 25 hotel personnel.
Several training sessions dealing with Human Resources topics were offered, including Motivation, Self-Motivation and Work Performance; Decisive Thought and Action Leadership; Integration and Training of High Performance Teams; Face Reading; Highlights; and Conflict Resolution.
As for Tourism Signage, improvements in the infrastructure of Nuevo Vallarta included the replacement of tags, new directories, painting, and structural work, among other components of the neighborhood signage.
