- This daily nonstop flight is the second of three that Southwest Airlines will open up from the United States to the Destination this year; the new flight from Denver is already scheduled to begin on November 1, 2015.
Good news regarding the tourism Renaissance picking up speed in the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta continues to flow—some would say, it even flies! The latest involves a new direct flight that began operating on October 15, 2015, with service from William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas aboard Southwest Airlines.
There was a grand celebration at the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport complete with a mariachi and cocktails to welcome the third new international flight to be inaugurated this year, along with new service from Orange County via Southwest and Alaska Airlines. There will be a total of four new international flights in service before the year is out.
“These are the most visible results of the Joint Promotional Campaign, although besides the new international flight that’s set to start next week there has also been an increase in the frequency of already established service,” pointed out Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The new nonstop flight will depart daily from Houston at 10:25 a.m. arriving at Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit at 1 p.m.; the return flight will depart at 1:55 p.m. with an estimated arrival time of 4:15 p.m. back to the United States.
This is the second of three flights brought in by Southwest Airlines to the region from the United States in 2015; the final one for the year will offer service from Denver beginning on November 1st.
