More Reforestation And Cleanup Work In The Riviera Nayarit

  • Sayulita received 300 additional saplings on Friday, September 18th; TV Azteca’s Limpiemos México campaign cleaned up several areas as part of their activities on Sunday, September 20th; and on Monday, September 21st, it’s time for the cleanup at Las Islas Marietas, part of the BCN network.

The constant efforts on the part of the Environmental Research and Programs department of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau including reforestations and cleanups at beaches, islands and public spaces continue to operate successfully.

Organized citizens, students, civil associations, hotels, businesses and authorities from the three levels of government participate in these activities, which benefit both tourism and the environment of the Riviera Nayarit.

On Friday, September 18, 2015, Sayulita welcomed the EarthCheck Committee for its reforestation project, headed by the Ecology, Public Works and Services department of the Banderas Bay municipality with the support of the Sayulita Limpia and Cuerpo de Paz civil associations.

Litibú recently joined in as well, planting approximately 300 endemic trees and plants, according to Francisco Méndez, Fonatur’s delegate in Nayarit, who added that he has his own sustainable greenhouse to collect, germinate and plant trees.

The Badeba City Council, the Instituto Tecnológico del Mar, the Conanp, the Hard Rock Hotel, Aquaventuras and Amigos de Bucerías joined forces with TV Azteca’s national Limpiemos México campaign to pick up trash in several areas in the Destination.

Last but not least, the monthly cleanup of Las Islas Marietas will take place on Monday, September 21st, as part of the Riviera Nayarit CVB’s Beach Cleanup Network together with Conanp, the Cooperativa del Coral del Risco and the Ecology department of the local City Council.
