- There are great cash and in-kind prizes for the first three places in these races, which are geared towards promoting tourism and sports; registration is now open for the 5K, 10K and 21K categories, divided into Open and Veteran divisions.
The “Generalísimo Morelos” Grand Race is ready to go for the third year in a row on September 28, 2015, in Punta de Mita, organized by the Grand Palladium Hotel via Corporativo EX. The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is helping support the event by announcing it, as the race promotes sports, family living and tourism.
Race divisions include the Open for runners younger than 40 years of age and the Veterans division for persons 40 years and older. These will be further divided into three categories: 21 Kilometers (Half Marathon), 10K and 5K.
The top three runners in each competition will receive prizes in cash and in kind, the latter being stellar stays at the Grand Palladium Hotels.
The race begins at 7 a.m. sharp departing from the hotel facilities; the race concludes there as well, after the runners finish their route throughout Punta de Mita.
Registration is open with a fee of $200 pesos to help defray costs; it includes a sports kit with a race T-shirt, a medal for the completion of the race and a chip, as this event is being timed by a specialty business.
