- Over 250 travel agents from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the cities of Chicago, Rockford and Bloomington in Illinois enjoyed a training course on the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta; the team also worked with the sales agents at the Apple Vacations Call Center.
The Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta Joint Promotional Campaign Tour headed to the Midwestern United States with the team from the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, as well as a group of 16 hotel representatives from both destinations.
The Roadshow is on an intense tour and has so far trained over 250 travel agents. The tour began on March 9th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, followed by Chicago, Rockford and Bloomington on the 10th, 11th and 12th in Illinois. On March 13th the team took advantage of their stay in the Midwest to visit the Apple Vacations Call Center in the suburb of Elk Grove Village in that state, training an additional 70 sales agents.
“These dinner seminars are great for updating the markets of origin that already frequent the region. Through them we’re able to announce new developments, flights, renovations, awards both domestic and international, plus important calendar events,” commented Pamela Zepeda, Promotions Manager for the Riviera Nayarit CVB.
“The general interaction with the agents gave us some great feedback that helps us to maintain and grow these natural markets, which is all vital for our tourism recuperation,” she added.
The Mexico Tourism Board coordinated the tour. Besides Apple Vacations, they also received the support of Funjet Vacations. Both of these tour operators are the top providers of visitors from the Midwest to both destinations, mostly during the winter season.
