- Thirty-six restaurants throughout the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta will be offering special menus at very reasonable prices so both locals and visitors can expand their culinary horizons.
The unique opportunity for people to
go out and taste the best of the local restaurants at very reasonable prices is
back again this year: Restaurant Week starts May 15th and runs
through the end of the month, celebrating its tenth anniversary of offering the
tastiest of the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta’s culinary delights.
Paco Ojeda, Editorial Director of
Vallarta Lifestyles Magazine and organizer of the event together with Juan
Pablo Hernández, announced a preliminary list of 36 restaurants that will be
offering three menu options with three courses each for only $199 or $299
Mexican pesos (beverages and tips not
included.)
“This is the only event of its kind
in all of Mexico, though it does exist in North America and other countries,”
commented Ojeda. “Any other location in the country that has a good culinary
offering—though not all have one as wonderful as we do here in Banderas
Bay—could actually set up their very own Restaurant Week.”
This culinary festival allows people
to enjoy their favorite menu or try something new or prepared in a different
manner. It’s an opportunity to sample different restaurants that perhaps they’d
never thought to visit—and all at a very special price.
“The event has been a hit because
we’re holding it in May,” explained Paco Ojeda. “In years past this particular
month wasn’t a very dynamic one for the destination, but thanks to Restaurant
Week and a few other events it has become a great time to come visit Puerto
Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit.”
There are some restaurants that have
been involved since the very beginning and others who are participating for the
first time. This tasty affair put together by the destinations has even created
a desire among tourists to program their vacations during the month of May so
they can take advantage of the many culinary offerings that take place.
“The support we’ve had from the
Convention and Visitors Bureau has been invaluable,” said Ojeda. “The Riviera
Nayarit team goes out of their way to promote the destination in person in
different countries, taking with them the list of the different activities that
take place here. This helps the travelers to make their plans for their best
time of the year to visit.”
This is an ideal event for lovers of
fine food. If you’d like to see a list of the participating restaurants this
