Sun, surf and reggae will be part of the Nautical Extravaganza at Riviera Nayarit

  • The Punta Sayulita Longboard & Stand Up Paddle Classic will celebrate its third edition as part of the Nautical Extravaganza at Mexico’s Pacific Treasure

In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our nature, and we’re committed to events like the 3rd Annual Longboard and Stand Up Paddle Punta Sayulita Classic, which will take place next March 9 - 11, as part of the Nautical Extravaganza that will be enjoyed in our destination.

Legendary surfers like Gerry López, Aaron Napoleon and Garrett McNamara have already confirmed their participation, as well as upcoming stars like Kai Lenny, Collin Mc Phillips and Kai Salas. Also, the organizers of this competition have proven their great commitment with Riviera Nayarit, its natural environment and its people, by offering all the profits of the event to foundations Punta Sayulita and Reef Check.

Complementing a weekend of professional surf, the party in Sayulita will continue through the night, starting on Saturday, March 10 at 8:00 pm. A wonderful free concert full of energy by the international reggae artist Mishka, and the Punta Sayulita Classic will feature the legendary reggae artist, Pato Banton.

This tournament is being organized by the Punta Sayulita Resort Community, and is rapidly becoming one of the most looked-for events each year in Riviera Nayarit.

Marketing efforts by the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit include supporting activities like the Nautical Extravaganza and the Regata Copa México Edición Nextel Bicentenario, which guarantee to attract competitors, as well as an intense media exposure by the networks that cover these events.

RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PUBLIC

Most competitions, except the long distance SUP are viewable from the beach in Sayulita, and they usually begin at 8 am, concluding at around 5 pm. This tournament draws large numbers of spectators, so it’s recommended to be there early to secure a good location to watch the event.
