Reader’s Digest Canada recommends visiting Riviera Nayarit


  • The acclaimed publication stated that Mexico’s Pacific Treasure is one of its favorite destinations, as it offers the magic of traditional Mexico imbued in picturesque seaside towns
“There’s never been a better time to visit Mexico”, states an article published by the Canadian edition of the popular Reader’s Digest magazine. The article, entitled “Secret Mexico: 3 Up-And-Coming Destinations to Discover presents Riviera Nayarit as one of the most enticing and interesting destinations in Mexico.

“From the artsy surf town of Sayulita to the traditional fishing village of La Cruz, the seaside towns to the north of Vallarta each have a unique atmosphere. The mountain villages inland are still reminiscent of colonial times, with life revolving around the church, the town square and the local hacienda”, affirmed author Diane Selkirk.

Selkirk also mentioned that Riviera Nayarit is making an intense marketing campaign that will soon introduce the unspoiled beaches and hidden towns of this destination. She recommends trying raicilla and attending a local lucha libre or charreada event, and concludes by saying: “If you think that culture in Mexico is all folk dancing and mariachi music, check out how locals spend their time”.

Reader’s Digest Magazine Canada has been in circulation since 1947 and today is one of the most recognized publications devoted to educate, entertain and connect audiences throughout Canada.

The magazine has 7.3 million readers, and its website – which also published Selkirk’s article – has over 501,000 unique visitors, with a total of 12 million monthly page views, and an average visit duration of 11 minutes. Its audience holds an estimated 30% of all purchasing power in Canada.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit seeks to attract the attention of the media through public relations efforts in order to introduce the touristic offers of this destination. The inclusion of this article in Reader’s Digest Canada is the result of these marketing efforts.
